What does a bespoke website from Marbl Codes include?
A bespoke website from us is designed from a blank page and coded by hand on WordPress or Astro. It includes the design, the build, the content structure, hosting and launch, and looking after it once it is live. Nothing is rented from a theme shop, and nothing on the site belongs to someone else.
We start with a conversation about the business: what you sell, who buys it, how they find you and what the site has to do for them. From that we write a short plan with the pages, the features and the price. You approve the plan before we design, and the design before we build.
Why not just buy a theme?
Because a theme is built for ten thousand businesses at once, which means it is built for none of them. It ships with features you will never use, code that slows the page down, and a design that thousands of other sites already wear. When it breaks, the person who sold it to you usually cannot fix it, because they did not build it.
Our sites are lighter, faster and easier to change because there is nothing in them we do not understand. The homepage of this site scores 99 on Lighthouse for desktop and 98 on mobile, and every site we build is measured the same way before launch.
Which platform do you build on?
WordPress when the site will be edited often by your team, needs a shop, or leans on a large ecosystem of integrations. We build WordPress properly: our own theme, a small set of trusted plugins, and Elementor only where your team wants to edit visually, set up so it stays light.
Astro when the site is content-shaped and you want the fastest, most secure result with the lowest running cost. Astro sites are built as static files and served from Cloudflare’s edge, so there is no database to attack and no server to slow down. Our own site is built this way.
How does the process work?
Discovery first: a conversation and a written plan with a price. Then design, shown to you as real pages on a staging link rather than flat pictures. Then build, content and testing, including accessibility and Core Web Vitals on a real phone. Then launch, handled by us, with hosting, DNS and email switched over without downtime.
After launch the site is looked after. Updates, backups, security and monitoring run every month, and changes you send us are made and checked on the page by a person who answers the same working day.

No. Every site is designed for the business it belongs to and coded by us. Our industry nemesis is the $69 theme sold as bespoke, and our ethos page explains why we will never do that.
Yes. The design, the code we write for you, the copy, the images and the domain are yours. We keep the licence to our own reusable tooling and we tell you which pieces those are before you sign.
Yes. Most of our clients are in Wellingborough, Northampton, Daventry and the surrounding towns, and we work with businesses across the UK by video call. The process is the same.
