Cookie Policy

The short version

marbl.codes does not follow you around. We count visits with Fathom Analytics, which uses no cookies and collects nothing that identifies you. The only cookie this site sets is the one that remembers the answer you gave to our cookie notice, so we do not ask you again on every page.

We plan to run our own adverts on LinkedIn and Google. When we do, their measurement tags will only load if you have said yes, and this page will name them.

Cookie preferences

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember something about you, such as a login, a preference or a record of your visit. Similar technologies, such as local storage, do the same job in other ways.

What this website uses

• One cookie of our own: cc_cookie. It records your cookie choice (accepted, declined, and which categories) and the date you made it. It holds nothing that identifies you, is not shared with anyone, and lasts six months.
• Visitor statistics, without cookies. Fathom Analytics tells us which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, does not track you across other websites and keeps no personal data, which is why it does not need your consent. (That link is a referral link: if you sign up through it, Fathom gives us a credit.)
• No advertising cookies today. The “advertising measurement” category in our cookie notice is empty for now. It exists so that the LinkedIn and Google tags we plan to add are off until you agree.
• Security. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary security cookie when it needs to check that a visitor is a person rather than a bot. It is used only to protect the site and does not require consent.
• Two scripts from other servers. The animation library that powers our logo loads from Cloudflare’s public library service, cdnjs, and the Fathom script loads from Fathom. Neither sets a cookie.
• Fonts and images are served from our own site, not from third parties.

Other Marbl sites

Some Marbl sites work differently and say so on their own pages. At the time of writing:

• events.marbl.codes uses an OpenAI Ads measurement pixel, which may set cookies or use similar storage to measure conversions (such as workshop waitlist sign-ups and ticket purchases) from our ChatGPT advertising campaigns. See the OpenAI privacy policy.

Managing cookies

You can view, block and delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking Cloudflare’s security cookie may mean you are asked to complete a check before a page loads. For more information, visit aboutcookies.org.
